3-2-1: TRENDING

The life of a F1 driver is scheduled down to the millisecond and so was our production schedule on the day. We had exactly 2.5 hours from driver arrival onsite till their return to the (actual) Race Track. Every Soapbox race, every change in track configuration, every fan interaction had to be accounted for in our RoS.

Once the onsite production was completed, surfing the hype around the Montreal Grand Prix meant that turnaround time for the hero asset was completed in a little over 48 hours - hitting the internet on Friday just as the pre-race fever was peaking.

Who produced the F1 x Soapbox content?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Boombox led the production of the F1 x Soapbox content series, managing concept development, live event workflows, multi-camera capture, editorial story crafting, and post-production deliverables that spanned broadcast and digital audiences.

Is Boombox a global production partner for Red Bull?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Yes. Boombox is one of Red Bull’s top global production partners, trusted to deliver live broadcasts, documentary series, and creator-led content across multiple regions and formats. Our long-standing relationship spans sports, gaming, and adventure projects, with Boombox supporting Red Bull Media House through end-to-end production, post-production, and platform-ready storytelling worldwide.

Can brands fund competition content without it feeling like a campaign?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Yes, and this is one of the most important creative challenges we solve. The key is that the competition has to be real. Real stakes, real tension, real outcomes. Brands that try to manufacture jeopardy or cast creators as props end up with content that audiences reject immediately. Boombox's approach ensures the brand's involvement enhances the competition rather than compromising it, the brand funds the stakes, enables the format, and earns authentic association with the energy. Red Bull is the gold standard for this globally, and it's a model we've applied across multiple brand partnerships.

Does Boombox develop original creator-led formats, or only execute existing ones?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Both, but format development is increasingly central to what we do. We develop creator-led formats with real stakes that are designed to repeat and scale into franchises, not just one-off activations. This includes everything from initial format concepting and pilot production through to full-season execution. Twitch Expedition is an example of a format we helped build from the ground up — a creator-led competitive event designed specifically for Twitch's platform dynamics and audience behavior.

What's the difference between a one-off challenge and a repeatable competition format?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

A one-off challenge is a moment. A repeatable competition format is a property. The difference is architecture: repeatable formats have clear mechanics, scalable stakes, defined character roles, and a structure that can grow with each iteration. Boombox designs for repeatability from day one, we think about how the format travels across seasons, how the stakes escalate, how the audience builds investment over time, and how the IP can expand into new platforms or partnerships. One-off challenges are fine, but franchises are where the real value lives for both platforms and brands.
